Design Approach

Our goal is to transform your garden into a unique place which serves your needs and manifests the vision you hold from the beginning. To help you express your particular affinities and preferred aesthetics is our aim. Listening carefully to your needs, and analyzing the site to determine the scope of the projected work, will guide our decision making process.

I will prepare a conceptual design for your approval, with illustrations to communicate my ideas, before proceeding with the drawings used for construction. I will recommend a team of highly qualified contractors and be on site at crucial times to observe that they are following the construction documents. The result will be a garden that is structurally sound, harmonious and beautiful and a pleasure to be enjoyed for years to come.

I specialize in ecofriendly landscapes from concept to design and manage the project through to completion. What is ecofriendly?

Rejuvenate: Restoring and refreshing problem areas in your existing landscape.

Reuse: It’s the process of taking existing plants and materials and incorporating them into fresh, beautiful design approaches whenever possible.

Regrow: I have a preference for drought tolerant and sustainable landscapes because they are suited to our Bay Area climate, and considered “Bay Friendly”. My inspiration comes from nature, and my design aesthetic has been influenced by Brazilian landscape designers due to the formative years I spent in South America.
